Of course, every class or lecture has one person who uses six different-coloured pens and underlines things with rulers – but that’s probably not you. What we need to do is go back to the beginning and see what note taking is for, whether we’re talking about notes taken in classes or lectures, notes that condense the essential facts from a book, or just notes of your own thoughts and ideas.
