ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses current and proposed policy interventions for people who are homeless. These can be seen at a number of different levels. At one level, they include interventions to improve the housing market in order to address the housing shortage underpinning much of the problem in developing countries. At other levels, they include policy addressing welfare support and the legal context of the homeless population and those facing, or who are already victims of, major trauma such as eviction and disaster.
