ABSTRACT

Within the context of good practice for nursery children I shall explore principles underpinning quality nursery education as the basis for helping children with SEN, valuing the potential of nursery education to support all young children’s development and especially those with SEN as emphasised in The Warnock Report:

We recommend that the provision of nursery education for all children should be substantially increased as soon as possible, since this would have the consequence that opportunities for young children with special needs could be correspondingly extended.
