ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will look first at some of the basic concepts behind programme budgeting, starting by asking the question ‘What is a budget?’ We then go on to build a fairly simple budget for a short factual programme using a spreadsheet to make our calculations. At the end of the chapter, we will consider some of the changes we need to make to our outline budget for a factual programme in order to make a suitable template for a simple drama production.
