ABSTRACT
This book has been anticipating this chapter’s engagement with a defence of
Marxism but it has taken some time to establish its premise, namely, that a
politics of setting right, especially with respect to the question of a collective
inheritance, depends on a condition of avowing reality and realities. The con-
sideration has also been that an avowal of reality necessarily entails an avowal of
the feminine real. In the space that remains, it will be necessary to get to the
point as quickly as possible.
