Community based rehabilitation is a concept which has been analysed, debated and refashioned countless times over recent years. Like Care in the Community in the UK, it has given rise to greater controversy than almost any other issue about disability in developing countries. So, what are the contentions, and how is community based rehabilitation relevant to the central theme of this book, collaborative multidisciplinary work with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities?
