ABSTRACT
There have been discussions about the nature of Design and Technology since its inception in 1988. This is mainly due to the fact that, in educational terms, Design and Technology is relatively new and still evolving; it does not have a long historical tradition like mathematics and is not clearly understood by many people. The ongoing debate signifies a healthy interest in the subject.
