ABSTRACT

As a dramatherapist working mainly in the mental health ®eld, I am not usually concerned with performance. During the last three years, however, I have been involved in an experimental theatre project with a semiprofessional company, composed of a group of young adults with learning disabilities and a group of volunteers (mostly psychology and education students). This experience has set in motion a profound change in my own view of both theatre and therapy, a change which is still in progress. The present article is a testimony of such a change.
