ABSTRACT
28.1 The takeover provisions are governed by Part 28 of the CA 2006. This Part implements the European Directive on Takeover Bids (2004/25/EC, the Takeovers Directive) which was adopted on 21 April 2004 and had to be implemented by 20 May 2006. It also contains a few minor amendments to the existing law not required by the Directive.
