ABSTRACT
In this chapter I offer an insight into what takes place at Clean Break which enables women to realise and sustain these ambitions. I have focused on the journeys of five women who have made and sustained positive changes in their lives. Importantly, I want their voices to emerge in this chapter; women’s lack of representation and lack of opportunity for voice contributes significantly to their continuing marginalisation within the criminal justice system.
