ABSTRACT
Since the early 1990s, globalization has been arguably the most substantial and significant subject for research and debate across the social sciences. This ‘global turn’ in academe has mirrored the ubiquity of globalization as a subject of comment and discussion across the public sphere, whether in politics, business, the media, sport, and other social realms.
