ABSTRACT

The final section draws together, perhaps what is at first impression, a seemingly disparate range of identities around the archaeology of class, caste, ideology, and religion. However, a recurrent theme throughout this volume has been the interconnections which exist between different identities and how, frequently, to treat them in the singular is to do them a disservice, both today and in relation to interpreting their former existence in the past. Hence the initial impression of dissimilarity dissolves and their inclusion together can be justified.
