ABSTRACT
Discussion texts are quite closely associated with educational contexts. The most common form of discussion is the essay, in which different aspects of a debate are explored, compared and contrasted. A point of view is put forward, supported by argument or evidence. Some typical features of the discussion genre are shown below.
