ABSTRACT
Present-day globalization is the result of many factors interacting with one another. Some observers look upon this result as foreordained, a teleological outcome. Others, and I number myself among them, see globalization as an unintended, yet logical, consequence of powerful forces all pushing in a discernible direction toward greatly increased interconnection and interdependence of peoples and societies.
