ABSTRACT
Anne was visited at home by a colleague from work. The colleague paid some attention to a photograph on Anne's shelf. Who was the good-looking man pictured, and how come no one at work had heard about him? Anne explained that it was an important relationship and some of her reasons for wanting to keep it private. `Anne, you should tell people about him!' exclaimed her colleague. `Take that photo to work and put it on your desk and it will stop people getting the idea that you're some old maid who hides herself away.'
