ABSTRACT
Let us pick up on what we hope to be the emerging fortunes of Louis, the seven-year-old with a diagnosis of ADHD that we introduced in Chapter 1. His family was offered various children's services. Louis' GP is now monitoring repeat prescriptions of Ritalin. There is some talk from his current social worker of a doctor once saying that he might need to be operated on when he reached the age of seven. This would help disguise the ugly burn scar on his head from the injury he sustained when he was two.
