ABSTRACT
This book deals with relations operating between the PRC and the international system. In doing so, questions of imagery are prominent, as are related questions of national identity and indeed international identity – both for the PRC and the international system vis-à-vis the other. Power and perceptions are entwined, as IR (International Relations) realism and its geopolitical bent is complemented by IR constructivism and its focus on images and perceptions.
