ABSTRACT

Central to health and social care study is the use of online line study resources such as electronic databases and search engines. This is increasingly important in e-learning as electronic access to reading and learning materials means that there is less need to visit libraries and receive large documents by post. In this chapter, you will be given practical advice on how to use online resources successfully and some exercises will be provided to help you with this. This will include advice on how to assess the value of websites and other material. Central to this will also be a discussion of the role of evidence-based practice and how online learning can be linked to outcomes in practice through this agenda.
