ABSTRACT
The aim of any language work with children with communication problems is to help children attain a more acceptable level of language and communication skills for their age. Many of the examples given in this chapter refer to working in the classroom in a nursery or school, but playgroup workers or parents at home can also carry out the activities discussed. It is important for anyone working or playing with such children that they encourage language development as part of daily routines and in naturalistic settings.
