ABSTRACT
This chapter will look at the Indian response to some more specific Jewish topics in the context of the history of the subcontinent, such as European anti-Semitic propaganda in India, Nazism and the Holocaust, the question of Jewish refugees from Europe, who in the 1930s and 1940s tried to find shelter in India in an attempt to escape Nazi persecution, and Indian discourses on Zionism.
