ABSTRACT
School councils can create an invaluable forum through which a real voice and real power can meaningfully be devolved to young people. When valued, their opinions and decisions can make a genuine difference. School councils, once well established, can be involved at an influential level within school decision-making processes and actually facilitate school-wide change.
