ABSTRACT
The story of Duncan, a 28-year-old man working in an officebased sales role, has two scenarios that develop after promotion is refused. In the first an occasional cocaine habit has started to impact more and more on work and in the second a lifelong problem of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that was recognised and treated in his youth may still be giving problems in adult life and has become a barrier to promotion and more responsibility.
