ABSTRACT
It is arguable in some quarters whether the assessment of presentation skills has a place in higher education; whether a student’s ability to orally present is any more worthy of explicit assessment at this level than other basic communication skills such as the ability to spell. Yet the general acceptance that an ability to make a presentation is a desirable graduate attribute has been used to justify the assessment of presentation skills on many HE courses over recent years.
