ABSTRACT

This chapter is about `®nding ways' because there isn't `a way' ± a one size ®ts all ± to recover. As I explained in Chapter 1, this book is not intended to be a manual for recovery or a comprehensive guide, but towards the end of each interview I asked people to talk about what they felt had helped them to recover. This chapter draws together their responses and for those who have recently had a brain haemorrhage perhaps they will ®nd ideas here which resonate for them. For those providing care and support services, the ideas set out may also offer some useful ideas about how these services can better meet people's needs.
