ABSTRACT
When I think of the main issues that face architects in the coming decades I believe very strongly that they must confront these challenges head-on. The most pressing objectives that I would like Ingenhoven Architects to focus on in the coming years are: future-oriented, environmentally-friendly sustainable building; mass housing; integrated infrastructure and high quality public space. If I were to summarize our practice’s approach to architecture in one phrase, it would be enthusiastic pragmatism. This chapter is an attempt to explain what we mean by enthusiastic pragmatism and how we have started to implement this approach.
