ABSTRACT

Once the plan has been written, the next step is the delivery of the lesson itself. The previous chapter discussed how lessons should be planned and what they should contain; this chapter will focus upon the key organisational and management issues concerning the teaching of a mathematics lesson where ICT is used. Although these aspects should be considered at the planning stage, we have dealt with them separately here for the sake of clarity. Structured and wellpaced delivery of lessons is fundamental to all good teaching, and although this is specifically mentioned in the National Strategy documents, it can easily be overlooked as the teacher attempts to manage all of the required elements of the lesson.
