ABSTRACT
Epidemic, pestilence and plague with inevitable famine stalking in the rear was the future for mankind predicted by economist Thomas Malthus in 1798:1 resources to feed mankind would grow slower than the number of mouths to feed. The result, no matter how good man became at setting priorities, was the dismal vision set out above. However, not for the last time, history proved an economist’s predictions wrong.
