ABSTRACT
This chapter describes a proposed strategy for the live capture of reusable project knowledge. It deals with a brief review of knowledge management and its application in construction. The chapter shows that the capture and reuse of knowledge, will not only prevent the re-invention of the wheel, but could be the basis for innovation, increased agility, better teamwork, supply chain integration, and improved performance in project delivery. It also describes the proposed strategy for the live capture and reuse of construction project knowledge, doing so by addressing the technological issues. Knowledge is a vital resource in project-based industries and has been described as the product learning, which is personal to individual or organization. The proliferation of research project demonstrates the increasing interest of researchers in both academia and industry in the problems of project knowledge capture. The development of an appropriate strategy for the live capture of construction project will combines both the Knowledge Manager technologies and techniques concepts and tools.
