ABSTRACT

In this study we have traced the effects of the global pressures on society, on knowledge, on education and, ultimately, on the learners themselves. We have recognised that the global substructure exercises a covert power throughout the whole world but as yet we have not looked at this in policy terms and so in this penultimate chapter, we return to our original model in Chapter 3 and trace the effects of the global pressures on the policies of the various layers of society.
