ABSTRACT

A window air collector is made of a double window with a moveable blind that acts as the solar absorber between the inner and outer glass panes. Air is circulated through this gap, is warmed by the blind and then extracted from the window (Figure IV.2.1). The hot air can be transported to a room or storage where the heat can be used. Thereby, the window serves as a collector and provides overheat and glare protection, as well as still being a window offering a view to the outside and admitting daylight. The principle of the window air collector https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315073736/fed22107-bf98-4e92-bec5-a8c02e6f0610/content/fig00149_B.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
