ABSTRACT
Location: In the region of Dalmatia and county of Split in Croatia, along the Dinaric karst (coast). Dalmatia is the coastal strip of the Balkan Peninsula, approximately 200 miles long and only 50 miles wide at its widest. Split is on the mainland, roughly 20 miles north of the islands of Brae and Hvar.
