ABSTRACT
Location: Delos lies in the Aegean Sea in the center of the fifty-six-island Cyclades group, so named because the islands were said in ancient times to surround Delos in a circle (Kyklos in Greek); to the east of the Peloponnese and southeast of the coast of Attica; just six nautical miles southwest from the better-known island of Mykonos.
