ABSTRACT

Location: The Sultan Ahmet Camii, popularly known as the Blue Mosque, is located in European istanbul's Sultanahmet district, the historic heart of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. The mosque borders the At Meydani esplanade, formerly the Roman Hippodrome, which lies to the northwest, and is situated about 500 feet southwest of Hagia Sophia, from which it is separated by a small park.
