ABSTRACT
Location: Kavala is a coastal town at the northern tip of the Aegean Sea in the border region between Turkey and mainland Greece. Philippi, located eight miles northwest of Kavala, provided an outpost for the ancient kingdom of Macedon during its imperialist expansion.
