ABSTRACT
Requirements F1 and F2, and the guidance contained in the Approved Document, seek to control air quality in buildings and the limitation of condensation in roof voids. With a background of workplace ventilation requirements and cases of legionnaires’ disease, ventilation provisions are now applied to non-domestic buildings above and beyond those previously covering just sanitary accommodation. The need for greater control of condensation has also arisen out of the need to provide ever-increasing levels of thermal insulation.
