ABSTRACT
The theories of learning discussed in the previous chapter tend to present subjects in terms of ‘content’ to which various skills such as ‘understanding’, analysis’ and ‘evaluation’ can be applied. The theories of learning that we examine in this chapter put more stress on the individuality of students’ experience of the world and the particular character of the concepts in a subject for study.
