Mobile architecture has a rich history in western culture but is predominantly associated with two types embedded in popular imagery of postwar society. The recreational application in the form of travel trailers or caravans, recreational vehicles (RVs) and boats is one common example. A particularly

The other commonly known area of mobile or modular design involves the use of modular buildings, for example as school classrooms or construction site facilities. These latter are typically conceived of as semi-permanent occupations.
