To teach Mathematics is a high calling. The truth of mathematics is real and fundamental, and we believe it is right for all pupils to study mathematics throughout all of their compulsory schooling. The questions we address in this booklet are:
Why does mathematics deserve its place in the curriculum? What mathematics will it be appropriate to learn in the early 2000s? How can mathematics best be learnt by each individual pupil?
