ABSTRACT

Making a television programme in a TV studio involves a numberof specific jobs that are only found on a multicamera shoot. Studioproduction is still an important part of the output of many broadcasting companies, especially ITV, BBC and Sky. A wide variety of different programmes are made in a studio. There are music shows such as Top of the Pops, quizzes such as Mastermind, celebrity interviews such as Parkinson, daytime chat shows, children’s programmes and situation comedies. Many live sports shows come from a studio as all the technical equipment is in place to integrate the graphics, presenters and guests with the live or recorded action. News also comes from a dedicated news studio that has remote cameras and few technical staff.
