ABSTRACT
The production of food may not appear to be related to architectural design. However, building developments can play a role in helping to reduce the impacts associated with food production and distribution. Food production and distribution practices can cause pollution; affect land use; affect the health and social and economic well-being of communities; and can be at risk of a volatile distribution network subject to disruption from strikes and rising fuel prices.
