ABSTRACT
In this chapter I explore how Harrogate, has been socially and culturally constructed through global flows of people, objects, finance, technology, and signs. I consider how Harrogate has been produced and reproduced through these flows, and how the speeding up and disjuncture of flows are leading to changes in the lived experience of Harrogate, resulting in a local crisis in place-identity.
