ABSTRACT
What does a gender perspective-and more specifically a focus on young men and masculinities-suggest for preventing violence and promoting greater gender equality and a masculine ethic of care? From the examples presented so far, one of the first and obvious conclusions is that of engaging those young and older men, who already exist in such settings, who show resistance to some of the violent and rigid versions of manhood they see around them.
