ABSTRACT

The great strength of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) lies in its coherence, and this is evident in the group 3 subjects.*1 In the IBDP, group 3 is concerned with individuals and societies. It has very broad aims, including the ‘systematic and critical study’ of ‘human experience and behaviour’ in a wide range of areas:

• physical • economic • social • historical • cultural (including the history and development of social and cultural

institutions).
