ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the content coverage of the mathematics curriculum in the primary school classroom. All references to the use of ICT have been included in Chapters 8 and 9 and are not repeated here. The use of discussions, teacher-directed and pupil-centred activities and groupwork are highlighted in this chapter. For ease of discussion, the content will be grouped by ATs. However, teachers are encouraged to plan their teaching according to the Programmes of Study and it is assumed that the mathematical activities will be addressed in accordance with the requirements of the NNS.
