ABSTRACT

The rate of heat storage during the first half was significantly reduced under both AH and PH conditions compared with the control (P<0.05) (Figure 3). A significant decline in the rate of heat storage was observed during the second half compared with the first in the control condition (P<0.05). During the second half the rate of heat storage was similar under all experimental conditions. The rate of heat storage representative of the 90-min intermittent protocol (AH, 19.2±7.0 W.m−2, PH, 16.8±5.0 W.m−2, Cont, 40.7±7.0 W.m−2) was significantly reduced following AH and PH compared to Cont.
