ABSTRACT

Interaction processes between athletes and coaches always have been considered to be determinants of sport performance (Serpa, 1995). It is well recognised that the leadership mode influences group participation as well as group work and group performance. On the other hand we know that at the beginning of the critical adolescence period, the young individual is particularly vulnerable as he or she tries to become independent and to get an adult identity with self-affirmation. The young fails and become adapted to the environment and to self and rejects every restraint. The relation with adults becomes difficult.
