ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 summarizes data that must be collected before a large hydraulic project can be designed or constructed. It gives readily available sources of data and it discusses some methods that can be used for the collection of the relevant data. This chapter is meant to illustrate to students the preparatory work that has to be done in the early stages of project preparation.
