ABSTRACT

Different countries face different challenges to achieve sustainability. We have collected, analysed, and interpreted a large amount of national data to examine these challenges. Each country has been located with respect to the sustainable development space by measuring its performance over time. Then, the countries have been grouped using cluster analysis. This statistical technique allows us to identify countries with similar societal development patterns, simultaneously accounting for all three imperatives of the sustainable development model. The cluster analysis helps us to derive attention points for a sustainable development, from which we ultimately create a quantitative narrative of change.
