ABSTRACT
The world was a simpler place when Dr John Snow discovered how a single water well accounted for London’s cholera outbreak in 1854. While almost 500 had died in early September of that year, he was able to operate in a detective-like fashion to investigate the environmental conditions, social context and spatial distributions associated with this outbreak and hone in on the Broad Street well as the infecting infrastructure (Snow 1855).
