ABSTRACT
This study examined the course of Anglo-Japanese relations in China during the period from 1897 to 1920, by studying the work and career of G. E. Morrison, whose preoccupation was to maintain British dominance in the Far East and thus to ensure Australia's national security against possible external threat.
